
Baked Sweet Sour Pork with Pineapple
3 to 4 lbs. Pork Butt
4 cloves garlic
flour
oil for frying
Sauce:
2 cups crushed pineapple
3/4 cup Japanese rice vinegar (Cidar or White vinegar ok)
1 3/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp. shoyu
2 Tbsp. salt
2 Tbsp. minced or grated ginger
4 Tbsp. corn starch
1. Cube pork butt, dust with flour. Not too much flour.
2. Brown pork in a large pot with 2 Tbsp. hot oil and crushed garlic cloves. Just brown
pork.
3. Remove browned pork to a foil lined 9X 13 baking pan.
4. Pour sauce over browned pork.
5. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. Check for tenderness at end of cooking
time.
