Lum’s Char Siu


1 tray pork butt or shoulder boneless country rib from Sam’s (2-3 lbs)

2 Tbsp. Shoyu 
1 Tbsp Garlic Salt
1/2 cup  Brown sugar OR Honey
2 Tbsp Oyster sauce
1 cube red fermented bean curd (optional)
2 tsp. 5 Spice Powder
2 Tbsp Hoisin sauce
3 Tbsp Shaoxing wine or Red wine, will do, If no more no worries
1 tsp. red food coloring, thick culinary type (optional)

Combine all marinade ingredients

Place pork in a bowl, add char siu sauce , massage into meat, marinate over night (12-24 hrs.)

Roast @ 350 degrees, in a broiler pan on a rack (45 min –1hr.) Finally, broil each side (5 min.)
