Brown Gravy Hamburger Stew with Mash Potatoes

Hamburger Stew:

1 lb. ground beef

1 medium carrot (diced)

1 stalk celery (diced)

½ round onion (diced)

4 oz tomato sauce

4 Tbsp. brown gravy seasoning

3/4  cup beef broth

¼ tsp. garlic salt

dash of pepper

  1. In a medium sauce pan at medium/high heat, brown the ground beef until well done.

      2. Drain excess fat. Reminder: Never drain fat into the sink drain. Drain fat into an empty jar or can. Seal tightly and dispose with trash.

      3. Dice the carrot, celery and onion.

      4. Add diced vegetables to ground beef and sauté at medium heat. Continue to sauté the vegetables until they turn slightly translucent.

      5. Add the tomato sauce, brown gravy seasoning and beef broth to the mixture. Stir slowly until sauce thickens.

      6. Season with ¼ tsp. garlic salt and dash pepper.

      7. Simmer on low for 5 minutes, stirring slowly to prevent burning on bottom.

     8. Serve over mash potatoes or rice. Garnish with chopped green onions.
