Poi Mochi

 

Ingredients:

 

4 cups mochiko (two 10-oz pkgs.)

1-1/2 cups sugar

1 bag poi (1lb)

2 cups of water (more or less as necessary)

Oil for deep-frying

 

 

 

 

Directions:

 

Combine mochiko, sugar and poi in the mixing bowl. Add water gradually and blend well until mixture has the consistency of thick pancake batter, not watery.  Drop by the teaspoon in hot oil. Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.  Allow mochi to cool, and then enjoy!
