Pork Adobo Recipe

 

 

Ingredients

  • 2-3 lbs. porkbutt, cut into serving pieces
  • 3 pieces dried bay leaves
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3/4 cup water 
  • 1/4 cup sugar sugar
  • cooking oil for searing meat
  • 1/2 Tbsp. whole peppercorn

 

Instructions

  1. In a large pot heat oil and sear meat on all sides till brown.  
  2. Place remaining ingredients with meat and bring to a simmer.
  3. Cover and simmer for about an hour or until the meat is fork tender.
  4. Sauce may be thickened with a corn starch/water mixture. 
  5. Chicken adobo can also be made by using the same ingredients. Just leave out the Pork :)
  6. Serve over rice and garnish with Cilantro.
