Shrimp and Broccoli


2 lbs. 16-20 shrimp, shelled and deveined

1 Tbsp. minced garlic

1 tsp. minced ginger

dash of salt and pepper


4-6 cups broccoli pieces


Sauce:

2 Tbsp. shoyu

1 Tbsp. Sesame seed oil

2 Tbsp. Oyster sauce

1 Tbsp. Hoisin Sauce

3/4 cup chicken broth

1 tsp. minced garlic

2green onion stalk, white section, thin sliced  

2 Tbsp. Corn Starch


Canola oil for saute shrimp


1. Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small mixing bowl.

2. In a large non stick wok, heat about 2 Tbsp. oil till slightly smoking. Add shrimp, minced ginger/garlic and saute till all are cooked through.

3. Remove shrimp and set aside.

4. Using the same wok, add a bit more oil, heat and stir fry broccoli. Add about a 1/4 cup of water to wok and cover to finish off the broccoli by steaming it. Steam for 2        minutes.

5. Stir sauce and add to broccoli. Heat until sauce thickens. Add shrimp back to wok and stir to combine and coat shrimp. 

6. Add little water if sauce too thick.
