
Sweet Sour Pork
Pork butt, cut into 1 inch cubes
1 egg
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
Dash Chinese 5 spice
1 tsp. sesame seed oil
1 Tbsp. corn starch
1 to 1 mixture of flour and corn starch
oil for deep frying
1/2 cup green bell pepper ,1x1 inch
1/2 cup round onion, 1x1 inch
1. Cut pork.
2. Combine remaining ingredients together in a large mixing bowl.
3. Add meat to marinade.
4. In a large plastic bag, combine flour and cornstarch.
5. Place pieces of pork in plastic bag, 3 or 4 at a time an throughly coat meat.
6. Deep fry pork in hot oil till golden brown.
7. Place on platter.
8. Stir fried green bell pepper and round onion. Place over pork in platter.
9. Pour sweet and sour sauce over fried pork and vegetables. Garnish with Chinese parsley.
Sweet Sour Sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
1 can pineapple and juice
water
2 Tbsp. corn starch
Combine ketchup, vinegar and sugar.
Drain pineapple saving juice in a measuring cup.
Add enough water to make 1 cup of pineapple juice mixture.
Add cornstarch to liquid .
Combine pineapple juice and catsup mixtures together.
Heat till thickened. Stirring constantly.
