Vegetarian Bean Patty

 

 

 

2 Tbsp. Olive oil

1 can (15 oz.) Black Beans or Kidney Beans

½ round onion , finely chopped

½ cup bread crumbs

½ tsp. garlic salt

pepper to taste

½ cup water

 

 

  1. Heat olive oil in a non stick pan and caramelize onions in a nonstick pan.
  2. Transfer onions to a mixing bowl and add remaining ingredients and seasonings. Mash the mixture with a pastry cutter or sturdy fork.
  3. Mixture should be soft and pliable but not liquidy. Add more water of bread crumbs to achieve a mixture that will form and hold a patty shape.
  4. Heat a nonstick skillet with some olive oil. Form patties one at a time and fry in heated pan. Browning the patty will firm it up. Fry both sides.
  5. Use bean patty as you would a beef patty. Burger, loco moco, ect…
